Bioethanol: Also known as ethanol, is an alcohol biofuel with the chemical formula CH3CH20H that is traditionally produced by the yeast fermentation and distilation of starch or sugar crops such as corn, sugar beet or sugar cane. Ethanol can also be produced from other feedstocks such as agricultural residues and biomass crops such as switchgrass. This is known as second generation or cellulosic ethanol.
